Ingoma is isiZulu for Song. Throughout the transformation of the nation of South Africa, Ingoma has come to mean Song of the Struggle. The Ingoma Foundation will seek to be a song for each of our struggles for peace and justice through unity and healing.
Collective Cry is committed to repairing the impact of the systemic oppression within the United States, and wherever possible throughout the world. Collective Cry is dedicated to extending the capacity of Artivists (artists and activists) addressing issues of systemic oppression. Thus, Collective Cry has established an operating foundation to forward this mission. Collective Cry will provide capital support to communities and individuals actively engaged in the struggle through the Ingoma Foundation.
The Ingoma Foundation, a non-profit operating foundation, will initiate and support works and actions to address systemic oppression globally and at home. It will sponsor tuition for individuals from systemically oppressed communities who have been incarcerated to participate in Collective Cry Forty Acres Collective Entrepreneurs Academy (FACE Academy) business development classes. The Ingoma Foundation will provide no-cost, specialized support by way of Collective Cry’s re-entry decompression services offered through strategic partnerships with innovative service providers. Ingoma will support internships and sponsor employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. Ingoma will also provide grants and colleagueships to Artivists to support and enhance their ongoing work and build the Artivist Collective. Foundation funding will be derived from a percentage of Collective Cry profits, donations and grants.
