a brief history

The concept for Collective Cry was created in the shadow of 9/11 by a group of artists and activists who saw the writing on the wall. Only healing and ending the reign of oppression will make the world truly safe for all of her peoples.

The first small efforts of Collective Cry was in response to 9/11 and included the production of the Peace Liberation Front tee shirt, which introduced the idea that a peaceful response was the only sane response to violence. It also introduced the CD single, 911, urging that this event not be coopted for ill purposes. 911 was a call for peace, justice and healing.

Since its inception, Collective Cry has been in development, carried by volunteer collaboration of artists and activists who have given birth to this grass-roots, community and alternative economy.
